Manchester City got their latest pursuit for the Premier League title off to a winning start with a hard-fought win over Wolves.
Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring from the spot for City after 19 minutes. The midfielder was fouled inside the box by Romain Saiss and blasted the resulting penalty past Rui Patricio.
Phil Foden made it 2-0 after 32 minutes when he fired in Raheem Sterling's pass after a slick City move sliced Wolves open. The hosts hit back in the second half through a powerful Raul Jimenez header but, despite piling the pressure on, City made sure of the win as Gabriel Jesus added a third in stoppage time.
