After watching Liverpool win their opening pair of league fixtures, City responded in perfect manner by sweeping aside Wolves 3-1 at Molineux.
In a virtuoso first-half display, goals from De Bruyne and Phil Foden set Pep Guardiola’s side on the way. They had to withstand intense pressure from the hosts in the second half, but sealed the win in the closing stages.
And speaking after the game, De Bruyne has revealed his teammates knew they had to get off to a fast start to stand a chance.
