Mesut Ozil insists he did initially enjoy Arsenal life under Mikel Arteta before "things unfortunately changed" and his relationship with the Gunners boss was altered.
The German playmaker stands on the verge of leaving the Gunners after making 254 appearances for the club since his arrival in September 2013, but having not played a single minute since March last year.
When Arteta joined the club in December 2019, the Spaniard had initially looked to work with the 32-year-old. Ozil played 75 minutes in Arteta's first match in charge at Bournemouth, and managed the full 90 in his first win against Manchester United on New Year's Day.
