Meghan and Harry given 'very frosty' reception by other royals, expert claims

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s relationship with some members of the Royal Family remains “very, very frosty” despite snaps of them interacting with royals at the Trooping the Colour ceremony, a royal commentator has claimed.

Harry and Meghan returned to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations on June 1, but as non-working royals, the couple were excluded from making a public balcony appearance with the likes of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The couple are expected to attend today’s (June 3) thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral in London, and were spotted meeting royal members out of sight of the public during the opening day of celebrations to mark the Queen’s 70 year reign.And, although appearing to enjoy meeting their distanced family, royal expert Russell Myers has suggested that tensions still exist between the couple and members of the Firm.“They were very very quiet about coming into the UK, and as I said they promised the Queen that they wouldn’t upstage her,” he told Sky News Australia.“And certain people at the Palace were very very nervous about their attendance here, we didn’t know whether they were going to come or not.”Russell acknowledged that the couple had been invited by the Queen, who has frequently emphasised that Harry and Meghan are “much loved” members of the family.And, although the pair did not feature on the royal balcony, snaps showed the ex-royals interacting with royal family members behind the scenes.“They seemed like they were having a good time, there was no sense of nervousness.

We saw a couple of pictures of Meghan having a playful chat with the children,” Russell said.But, the royal expert stressed that there is still a long way to go before Meghan and Harry’s.
