The news is bound to delight those living in the north of the UK. When 33 branches were selected to reopen this week, the majority of them were in the south.
This led to some accusing Maccies of “hating the north”. One Twitter user remarked: “Do McDonald’s know that the north exists or do they just think it’s a myth?"
