Here, we are the underdogs, fighting our final battle for survival. You are the Traveler, humanity’s last hope,” reads the official description.The game was first announced in 2023 with a trailer that revealed only a tiny amount of gameplay, so the response was muted.
Now creators are really trying to dial up the excitement. Two weeks ago, they recruited actor Matthew McConaughey to narrate an eerie cinematic trailer that introduced players to flying space creatures called Mara Yama that captures prey, puts them through “immense psychological torment” before they’re “neurologically drained”.And the creepy monsters keep coming, with McConaughey doing his best David Attenborough impression to describe things like The Awakened Bear, the axe-wielding Arkavir and The Koven, which are part-robot, part-animal slave-soldiers that serve the Mara Yama.
