Matthew McConaughey has channeled his inner-David Attenborough for a series of trailers promoting new dystopian horror game Exodus.Exodus tells a “thrilling horror infused story about a dystopian alternative timeline of human history” and is being made by developers who helped create Baldur’s Gate, Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic while at BioWare.“Having fled a dying Earth, humanity has found a new home in a hostile galaxy.

Here, we are the underdogs, fighting our final battle for survival. You are the Traveler, humanity’s last hope,” reads the official description.The game was first announced in 2023 with a trailer that revealed only a tiny amount of gameplay, so the response was muted.

Now creators are really trying to dial up the excitement. Two weeks ago, they recruited actor Matthew McConaughey to narrate an eerie cinematic trailer that introduced players to flying space creatures called Mara Yama that captures prey, puts them through “immense psychological torment” before they’re “neurologically drained”.And the creepy monsters keep coming, with McConaughey doing his best David Attenborough impression to describe things like The Awakened Bear, the axe-wielding Arkavir and The Koven, which are part-robot, part-animal slave-soldiers that serve the Mara Yama.
