Mason Holgate has admitted he found the cut throat nature of first-team football difficult to deal with in his early career but credited the impact of boss Carlo Ancelotti in helping to change his outlook.
The 23-year-old made his Everton debut in 2016, though has not always been an established regular since. He was even sent out on loan to West Brom last season as the prospect of not making the grade at Goodison Park became a realistic possibility.
