Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.
Rashford is future skipper, says Maguire Harry Maguire has tipped team-mate Marcus Rashford to be a future Manchester United captain.
The 27-year-old is the team’s current skipper following the departure of Ashley Young in January 2020 – but Rashford has donned the armband in his absence, leading the team in the first leg of the League Cup semi-final against Manchester City.
And now Maguire has hailed his young colleague for club and country, praising his charity work and also describing him as the most talented player he has ever worked with. “I think he’s going to go on to have an exceptional career,” Maguire told the United podcast. “Yeah, definitely [he could become club captain].
