The transfer deadline looms large and despite having hoped to build on a strong end to last season, Man United have struggled to make progress in the transfer market.
Thus far, they have made just one senior signing in Donny van de Beek, while moves for Alex Telles, Jadon Sancho, and others have either stalled, slowed, or been scuppered entirely, while fans grow increasingly frustrated at the lack of transfer movement the club has shown throughout the summer months.
Meanwhile, performances on the pitch have left a lot to be desired. United lost to Crystal Palace in their season opener. They were then extremely fortunate to squeeze past Brighton after they were largely outplayed.
