I’m A Celebrity chiefs want to sign football icon Eric Cantona. The Frenchman, who became a legend at Manchester United, is top of their shortlist.
ITV director of entertainment Richard Cowles said: “I like the idea of Eric Cantona talking in French and coming up with really profound things.
That would be good.” Eric, 53, now an actor and producer, is known for his philosophical musings. He is famous for making bizarre declarations such as “I am not a man, I am Cantona”, “Soon we will become eternal” and “When seagulls follow the trawler, it’s because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea”.
He also wants ex-Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson – famous for his shouty “hairdryer treatment” rants at players - in the camp too.
