Ryan Giggs may well have learned from the best in Sir Alex Ferguson but when it comes to selecting his own team he’s adopted Louis van Gaal’s approach.
The Welshman won 13 Premier League titles at Manchester United under Ferguson with many regarding the Scot as one of the greatest ever managers.
Having hung up his boots in 2014, Giggs began carving out his career in coaching. That involved working alongside Louis van Gaal as his assistant in the Old Trafford dugout and was tipped to succeed the Dutchman.
But after Jose Mourinho was announced as Van Gaal’s successor, Giggs left his boyhood club and would later go on to take charge of Wales.
