Manchester United will need to pay Swansea £1million the next time Daniel James makes an appearance for 20 minutes or more. James joined the Red Devils last summer and enjoyed an impressive debut campaign, playing 46 times for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side in all competitions.
According to The Athletic, part of the agreement of the £15million deal was Swansea would receive an extra £1million when James made 40 appearances.
However, an appearance is only constituted under the terms of the agreement if James either starts or comes off the bench for at least 20 minutes.
Last season, seven of the Wales international's appearances didn't fall into the bracket, meaning he must rack up another before the clause is triggered.
