Man sucker-punched unconscious after brutal fight erupts at Sandown races

savage fight broke out at Sandown with one man getting knocked out by a horrific sucker punch from behind. Footage of the incident was posted online showing a group of smartly dressed men brawl it out at the Premier enclosure of the famous Surrey track.Police are working with Sandown to identify those involved and issue bans.

One official said the brawlers "who should never return to a racecourse". Around 9,000 punters were estimated to have been at Sandown on Saturday with most of the event going off without a hitch, reports The Sun.In footage of the fight people can be seen swinging punches as other race goers watch on in horror.Tables are overturned with drinks spilled across the floor.Secuirty can be seen wading in to try and separate the fighter.

But before the brawl can be stopped a man walks around the fray and appears to sucker punch another man knocking him out.The Jockey Club, who own Sandown, confirmed the footage was genuine and that cops are involved in banning those involved.Sarah Drabwell, Sandown’s general manager, said: "Racing is a fantastic day out for most people and then you see our security team having to respond to behaviour like this from individuals who should never return to a racecourse."As such we are liaising with the police and will work with them to try to identify anyone involved, in order to issue life bans from every racecourse we operate."After footage of the incident was posted online, social media users responded in shock.

One said: "It's just awful. Hardly anyone goes racing for the joy of racing anymore. Which is why I now prefer to watch from the comfort of my sofa."Another commented: "What racecourses should legally have to do is have a police presence like at football matches.
