Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

A man has been left fighting for his life after being attacked in Bolton. Police were called to a road in Great Lever on Sunday lunchtime (May 8) after a man in his 50s was assaulted.

He suffered serious injuries, a GMP spokesperson confirmed. The man was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition, they added.

It is thought the man was found at the junction between Westbourne Avenue and Bramhall Street in Great Lever. A GMP statement said: “At around 1.29pm on Sunday 8 May police were called to a report of an assault near the junction of Westbourne Avenue and Bramhall Street, Great Lever, Bolton. “Officers attended and a man in his 50s was located with serious injuries.
