A 71-year-old woman died in a motorway collision involving two cars and a HGV, police have confirmed. A man from Stockport was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Police said he was also held on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs. He's 41 but hasn't been named, reports Cheshire Live.
Cheshire Police said the man was questioned and has now been released 'under investigation'. Emergency services were called to the M6 in Cheshire after a Mercedes, a Kia and lorry were involved in a collision on the northbound carriageway between junctions 17 and 18, Sandbach and Holmes Chapel, at 12.30am on Saturday - October 30.
