Manchester City are pushing to hijack Liverpool’s pursuit of Thiago Alcantara – despite the Premier League champions holding an “advantage”.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the Bayern Munich midfielder throughout the summer transfer window. After seven seasons at the Allianz Stadium, the Spaniard is getting close to a four-year deal at Anfield.
Despite this, it has seen City attempt to swoop in and “offer more” for the 29-year-old. But French outlet Soccer Link have reported that Pep Guardiola wants his side to up the ante on Liverpool.
The midfielder has become a serial winner with Bayern, wining seven consecutive Bundesliga titles in a row.And the 29-year-old could add a Champions League honour to his tally as the German side.
