Liverpool's hopes of signing Thiago Alcantara have not been dashed by Bayern Munich winning the Champions League. The industrious midfielder put in another fine display as the Bundesliga champions overcame Paris St-Germain 1-0 in Lisbon.Alcatara has been consistently linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, with Bayern seemingly resigned to losing him.
The German giants snapped him up for a bargain after Barcelona failed to give him enough minutes to activate a £80m release clause in a new contract he signed in 2011.
And seven seasons down the line, Liverpool could be in line to capitalise on the 29-year-old's current contract situation.Last month, Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admitted Alcantara - who is out of contract.
