Greater Manchester Police were called to Alexandra Park in Moss Side at around midday on Sunday to reports of a large gathering.
Officers believe the demonstration was part of 'Stand in the Park', an international movement that appears to oppose lockdown measures.
In a statement issued yesterday, GMP said it was believed up to 50 people had gathered. Officers attended and many of the demonstrators left, but some became confrontational when officers asked them to disperse, the force added.
