Man, 26, murdered by gang of 'armed schoolchildren' as he innocently fixes moped

murdered an innocent man whilst they travelled to a pre-arranged fight.Three yobs, including one 15-year-old and two 16-year-olds, have been jailedfor a combined total of 37 years over the brutal killing of Peter Cairns.

The murder unfolded on Rough Park Way, in Telford, Shropshire on June 11 last year after an altercation whilst Peter, 26, was fixing his moped with a pal. READ MORE:Brit man, 40, dead and woman severely injured after 'hotel sex game gone wrong'Tragic Peter died in hospital after a stab wound to the chest whilst the criminal trio, who cannot be named for legal reasons, fled the scene and abandoned their weapons.All three were sentenced on Friday (July 15) after one of the 16-year-old defendants pleaded guilty to murder and the other two were found guilty following a nine week trial, reports Birmingham Mail.Following the sentencing at Stafford Crown Court, Detective Inspector Lee Holehouse, who led the investigation for West Mercia Police, said: "Peter was a good man, who had recently lost his job.“As a sign of the man that he was, he picked himself up and got straight back out there to find himself work…"It was during that time Peter and his friend were confronted by a gang of school-aged children, who were armed and on their way to a fight with another gang from another part of Telford."Peter was an innocent man; he had no connections to gang activity whatsoever, and he gave these boys no cause to attack him.
