Magaluf's famous party strip is to re-open on October 15th, the Balearic government has confirmed. Bars, shops and restaurants selling alcohol on Punta Ballena were told to close down in July in a shock move which left them fearing they would never reopen again.

Punta Ballena has been wiped out since the order was made, though a number of Brits still managed to get themselves arrested for causing unruly behaviour.
