dailystar.co.ukMadeleine McCann case has abandoned a legal bid to leave prison early.German prisoner Christian Brueckner is currently serving a sentence for drug offences in the city of Kiel.
His lawyers had launched an application to cut his current jail term, but it has since been withdrawn, The Sun reports. Brueckner will remain in prison until late January next year, it is claimed.
However, his lawyers have also appealed against a conviction for the rape of a 72-year-old American tourist in Portugal in 2005.
