Arsenal are giving themselves a big obstacle as they try to secure a Lucas Torreira clause in their negotiations for Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey.
The Gunners have got one week left to land their targets – and are pulling out all the stops to secure their signatures. Lyon midfielder Aouar, who helped his side reach the Champions League semi-finals last season, has emerged as a target due to his connection with former Ligue 1 forward Alexandre Lacazette.
While Partey, who is into his sixth season with Atletico Madrid, has been a long-time admirer of the north London side. It has seen Mikel Arteta try to get players out the other way, with Torreira even being offered to the Spanish side in a swap deal.
