In a statement read out to Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, Mr Roberts' sister, Karen, described how she received a phone call on January 1, from her sister-in-law telling her that her brother was dead.She said: "It was the worst news ever imaginable, I couldn't believe it.""That night and the following days were a blur.
