Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius' hopes of a permanent switch to Union Berlin have been dashed, according to reports in Germany.
Karius, 27, left Anfield to join the Bundesliga side on a season-long loan in September. Union Berlin sit eighth in the table after an impressive first half of the season during which they held reigning champions Bayern Munich to a draw and beat Borussia Dortmund.
But Karius has played almost no part in Union Berlin's on-pitch successes, making just two appearances since moving to the German capital.
