Loose Women viewers were left outraged after a discussion on the Queen needing to use mobility aids missed the mark.Fans of the ITV chat show tuned in to see host Ruth Langsford discussing reports that the head of the Royal family will miss the state opening of parliament with the heir to the throne Prince Charles delivering her speech for the first time ever.Joined by panellists Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter and Frankie Bridge, Ruth brought the ongoing issue of the 96-year-old monarch's mobility to the forefront of the debate as it was implied that her use of a wheelchair could be a factor in her reluctance to be seen in public.Janet said: "Whether we like it or not an image of her in a wheelchair signifies declining power.
She's not declining mentally, that's perfectly clear. And it's also clear that she didn't even like being photographed with a stick.Ruth interjected: "She used that very briefly."Janet continued: "Yes.
Also the picture with the two horses, the ponies, well they were supporting her. That's so she was able to be photographed not using the stick. "So I think it's really tough, because obviously mentally she's on the ball, she's still got an amazingly big workload, but you have to weigh that up about how do you want to be perceived."Ruth then probed Frankie for her views as the youngest member of the panel asking: "Would it bother you seeing her in a wheelchair?" Frankie replied: "No it wouldn't, it really wouldn't.
I think it would do a lot for other people that are in wheelchairs or have other disabilities. But I completely understand. I think t would distract from what they're all there for.
