‘I tried a vitamin drip to see if it could transform my punching bag immune system'
wedding and festival season while getting used to the weather change, our bodies can feel worse for wear – and it can even affect us mentally.READ MORE: 'People say women peak at 23 – but I'm getting finer and fitter in my 30s'As someone with an immune system that is treated like a punching bag, going into the colder months makes me want to hibernate in fear of a constant runny nose or sore throat. So when I was invited to Get A Drip, I knew I had to give it a go to give my body the boost it needed. The pun named company wanting to make "optimum nutrition accessible to everyone" has locations scattered across London, Dublin and even in Rotterdam. For those who need a boost in the confines of their own home, the company also offers mobile clinics. With my hopes of having the energy of a Duracell bunny instead of a sickly Victorian child, I made my way to the Canary Wharf branch of the clinics.Welcomed with a smile and explanation about the treatment I was going to receive, I felt apprehensive that a dose of vitamins through my bloodstream was going to make me feel any better. But, at this point, I’ll give anything a try.Offered the 'The Immunity Drip', 'Triple B12' along with 'Vitamin D Testing', I made my way into the treatment area.A row of chairs similar to those in a salon but, plot twist with no pedicure in sight, instead I had a 45 minute appointment with an IV drip. Most people wouldn’t see being hooked to a bag of liquid form vitamins and getting a blood test as a form of self-care.
