The Green Brigade have hit out at the Celtic board for 'disingenuous claims' - and will hand out Palestine flags to fans who want them before their upcoming clash with Atletico Madrid.
The influential fan group are at odds with the Parkhead board who recently distanced themselves from their displays of support for Palestine amid the ongoing conflict with Israel.
The Green Brigade were also banned from away games until further notice, chiefs have making the move citing continued unacceptable behaviour at recent matches from the group against Feyenoord in Rotterdam and Motherwell at Fir Park.But they have hit back at those claims as "disingenuous" - insisting the sanctions are "motivated by a desire to quash political expression within the Celtic support." And they have once again asked fans to show courage in their support for Palestine, offering to hand out flags outside the ground to those who want them.A statement reads: "In 2016, Celtic fans faced pressure and intimidation before flying the flag for Palestine.
In the aftermath, Peter Lawwell advised us that we were 'finished' - it was only the widespread positive reaction and subsequent fundraising which deterred the Celtic Board from banning us.
