'Just drop it' James Martin admits he turned down £180,000 gift from Hollywood ex
James Martin, 49, is known for hosting his ITV show Saturday Kitchen every weekend. However, fans may not know about the star’s previous relationship with Hollywood producer Barbara Broccoli.The chef dated the James Bond producer after meeting her in 2001.They first met when Martin was auctioned off to cook her a meal at a charity fundraiser.After making a meal for her and her friends, the pair hit it off and organised to see each other again.The pair dated for four and a half years, which Martin called “surreal” and “exciting”.In an unearthed piece, Martin opened up about some of the extravagant gifts she gave him during their relationship.Writing for the Daily Mail back in 2008, he explained she’d gifted him three Picasso paintings.As well as this, she’d offered to buy him a “state-of-the-art Aston Martin DBS, chassis number 007, costing an eye-watering £180,000.”While Martin explained they had a great relationship, he admitted he turned down the pricey gift.He recalled how when they’d been at the dealership, Barbara had begun to buy him the car when he asked her not to.Martin explained: “I told her not to be so ridiculous but she was already saying: 'Yes, we'll have it black, with black interior, and we'll have the chassis number 007.'“I continued to say: 'No, we won't.' Drew Barrymore throws herself on floor as Penn Badgley surprises her with call
Drew Barrymore couldn't seem to contain her excitement as she threw herself to the floor when she received a call from You star Penn Badgley.Appearing on her programme The Drew Barrymore Show alongside actress Casey Wilson, the stars certainly left viewers in hysterics as they showed their adoration for the Netflix actor.Taking part in the Drews' News segment of the show, podcaster Danielle Schneider told Drew that she had an unbelievable surprise waiting in store for her.Danielle said: "Now I wanted to give you something big, so I decided I needed to give you, You. And by You, I mean Penn Badgley."Taken aback by her admission, Drew, 47, looked stunned.Appearing via video link Penn spoke to the women directly and asked: "Is this where I say something?"Screaming in disbelief, Drew, Casey and Danielle began to throw the papers on the desk around, causing chaos in the television studio.Jumping over the desk, Drew and Casey landed head first onto the studio floor.As the two women calmed down they greeted their guest and asked him how he was.Penn, who is currently in London, told the ladies that he was ok but was suffering from a cold, to which Drew replied: "We can look after you."Seeing the hilarious scene unfold, fans on Twitter shared their thoughts on the funny act.One viewer exclaimed: "Give me Drew Barrymore and Casey Wilson as feuding housewives trying to flirt and start an affair with the new man in the neighbourhood Penn Badgley NOW!"Another fan penned: "It’s Drew acting like she’s not one of the biggest legends in Hollywood.
