The Reds went 27 games unbeaten at the start of last season, but have been handed a potential banana skin on the opening day as Championship winners Leeds head to Anfield for the first meeting between the sides since 2004.
Next up for Jurgen Klopp's men is a trip to Frank Lampard's Chelsea before they host Arsenal the following week. Arguably Liverpool's easiest fixture in the opening eight games is against Aston Villa, but the Reds will have to play last season's relegation battlers on away soil.
