Lionel Messi poignantly paid tribute to the late Diego Maradona after scoring a goal the footballing icon would have been proud of.
Sunday saw Barcelona playing their first match since Maradona's tragic death was announced on Wednesday afternoon. The Argentinian legend spent two seasons at the Nou Camp, before moving to Napoli in 1984.
And Barcelona put in a performance worthy of the 1986 World Cup winner, thumping Osasuna 4-0 in La Liga. Messi scored his side's fourth goal in the closing stages, dribbling past two defenders before firing into the top corner.
Following an embrace with some of his teammates, Messi removed his Barcelona shirt to reveal a Newell's Old Boy jersey with the No.10 printed.
