Linda Lusardi has opened up about her terrifying coronavirus ordeal, revealing she was left alone for large stretches of time as nurses were "terrified" to go near her.

Towards the start of lockdown, the 61-year-old along with husband Samuel Kane, contracted the life-threatening virus, and both were rushed into hospital after struggling to breathe.

As the actress' health started to deteriorate, she was admitted into intensive care and, after making a full recovery, was released from hospital 10 days later.

But with little information surrounding coronavirus during the early stages of the pandemic, hospital staff were wary to go near Linda, and she was often left alone, Lusardi claimed.
