Liverpool are close to signing Olympiakos left-back Kostas Tsimikas for an £11.75million fee - but Jurgen Klopp had several other targets before opting for the 24-year-old.
The Reds have been watching Tsimikas for a long time and believe he has the potential to become a world-class player in his position.Tsimikas was one of the Greek side's star performers this season as they romped to another Super League title, and he is very highly rated.He is now due to fly to the UK as soon as possible for a medical and to discuss personal terms, but the move seemed unlikely a few days ago.
That is because the newly-crowned Premier League champions had several other options on their radar, as well as Tsimikas. First on the shortlist was Norwich City.
