Newcastle have reportedly asked Liverpool about signing their striker Rhian Brewster on loan. The Magpies are believed to have entered the race to secure the services of the exciting youngster for the upcoming season after baulking at Arsenal ’s valuation of Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Steve Bruce’s side made enquiries into the FA Cup winner but have been put off by his £25million asking price, according to The Telegraph, which also reported that the Gunners have rejected an offer of £15million from Wolves.
The change in priorities for Newcastle puts the focus on their efforts to bring in Brewster, the 20-year-old English striker who has spent the calendar year so far on loan at Swansea City.
