Killing Eve fans have taken to Twitter to express their outrage at the new series.Self titled as a “bloody, funny thriller,” Killing Eve follows assassin Villanelle, played by Jodie Comer, and Eve, played by Sandra Oh.The series was adapted from the books Codename Villanelle, Killing Eve: No Tomorrow and Killing Eve: Die For Me, written by Luke Jennings. The first series was aired on BBC One in April 2018 and has been a cult hit ever since. However, the season that is currently airing has received backlash for it’s “confusing” storyline and new characters. One viewer tweeted out: “I have no idea what is going on anymore, who are these new people?”Another said: “Well, it’s not the same as the first two series but I will keep watching.”“It’s not a good series so far,” analysed another.Other fans tweeted with their complaints and one even attacked the music choices throughout the episode, branded “annoying”.Many more had a problem with the amount of new characters that have been introduced to the show and said that they “couldn’t keep up” with the never ending roster. One also pointed out that they were “forcing” themselves to watch “until the end” although it’s a “real struggle”.Disgruntled fans similarly compared the recent episodes to previous series in which “Jodie [Villanelle] was killing and not over analysing”.The most recent episode, the third in the fourth series titled A Rainbow In Beige Boots, sees Villanelle and Eve reunited once more and their “mutual obsession” grows.During the final scenes, the pair are sat on a sofa together as they talk.Eve turns to Villanelle and says that she “should have done this when they met” as a squadron of armed police officers barge through the front door.A visually exhausted.
