Kieran Tierney dedicated his FA Cup winner’s medal to the fans who have helped him through the “toughest year of his life.” It was a strange and surreal Wembley final played out behind closed doors with no fans allowed and was never going to feel the same because the day is always about the atmosphere, crowd and colour.
But Tierney immediately thanked the Arsenal supporters for their backing during a turbulent first year at the club when he has struggled with injuries, form and confidence.
Arsenal defender Tierney now feels they “are building something” under Mikel Arteta but was also at pains to pay tribute to the fans after the Wembley success.
