evoke.ieYOU magazine that it was startling to her to see how much damage it’s done to his body.She revealed that over the course of his six month battle, Derek has lost a whopping eight stone and that seeing him for the first time while he was in his induced coma was a big shock for her.She said: ‘When I finally got to FaceTime him, seeing him unconscious was a big shock.‘He’s lost nearly eight stone in weight, a lot of it muscle throughout his body.
He looked worn-out, thin and pale with dark circles under his eyes and there were lots of tubes.’While he has survived, the doctors aren’t able to say if he’ll fully recover as his condition fluctuates so much.Kate had contracted the virus herself but made a full recovery and was desperate to do.
