The Good Morning Britain star, 53, is said to have been given a huge boost after doctors finally gave Derek the green light to be discharged.
In her documentary Finding Derek, Kate revealed she's already spent thousands converting the ground floor of their north London home to make it suitable for her husband - adding a downstairs bedroom, wet room and wheelchair ramps.
However, Kate is now going to have to pay for round-the-clock medical care for Derek too as his recovery needs to be closely monitored by experts.
