Kate Garraway has described the moments husband Derek Draper was rushed to hospital in March last year after contracting Covid-19.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 53, has explained the fear after what the pair had been told was sinusitis quickly took a turn for the worse.
And she has revealed how Dr Hilary Jones' words are something she will never forget. In her new memoir The Power Of Hope, which is being serialised by The Mail on Sunday, Kate told how she called GMB's resident doctor for advice after Derek's then-unknown condition deteriorated.
And after speaking to Derek, 53, Dr Hilary urged Kate: "You need to call an ambulance. Now." He told her that her husband's breathing was worrying and not right.
