The Good Morning Britain host, 53, and her husband have experienced a year from hell after Derek, 53, became seriously ill with coronavirus.
He's now home from the hospital after being there for over a year as he battled the life-threatening virus. In Kate's new memoir The Power of Hope, which is being serialised in the Mail on Sunday, she revealed the moving words Derek said to her the day he was taken away in the ambulance.
She wrote in the article: "As they prepared to close the doors of the ambulance, Derek lifted the oxygen mask from his face."'Kate,' he said, 'this is not the last time you will see me.
