Josh Taylor beats Jose Ramirez to become undisputed world champion

Josh Taylor was crowned the undisputed super-lightweight world champion after out-pointing Jose Ramirez in Las Vegas last night.

The Scot knocked Ramirez down in the sixth and seventh rounds to add his rival's two belts to his own pair of titles. The judges were in agreement with Taylor given the nod by 114-112 on all three scorecards as he joined countryman Ken Buchanan as an undisputed ruler.

And in a nod to his predecessor, Taylor said: "I'm just like you, champ" as he collected his trophy haul. Taylor edged a fast-paced opening round as the Scottish southpaw switched well between head and body.
