Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage (born March 5, 1963), better known by his stage name Joe Exotic, is an American former zoo operator, internet personality, musician, and convicted felon. The former owner and operator of the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park (a.k.a. G. W. Zoo) in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, Maldonado-Passage had claimed to be the most prolific breeder of tigers in the United States. He twice unsuccessfully ran for public office, first for President of the United States in 2016 as an independent, and then for Governor of Oklahoma in 2018 as a Libertarian.

Joe Exotic's husband Dillon Passage has expressed excitement at the Tiger King 's return from the coronavirus quarantine he was holed up at.

Joe - real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage - was earlier this month transferred from the Grady County Jail in Oklahoma to the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, after inmates at his previous facility tested positive for COVID-19.

Hinting at a possibility of Joe, 57, leaving jail isolation, Dillon - who currently regulates Joe's Facebook page - took to the social media site to update fans.

Sharing a link to a story about people dressing up to go outside amid a lockdown in Australia, the 24-year-old penned: "Shout out to Australia!
