Ryanair and Jet2 have issued updates to passengers warning of “delays” and “disruption” due to high winds and stormy weather.
It comes as Storm Gerrit swept the country, which saw 100 properties damaged in Tameside on Wednesday night due to a ‘localised’ tornado.
The storm brought high winds and heavy rain to large parts of the country, with thousands of properties losing power while some trailines have also been impacted.
Heathrow Airport had to cancel 18 flights on Wednesday due to air traffic control restrictions, including routes from Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey and Manchester.
