A Scottish Liberal Democrat MP has urged the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to consider a new approach in its ongoing efforts to increase take-up of a benefit specifically aimed at helping low-income pensioner households. During a debate on the impact of the cost of living crisis on pensioners, Wendy Chamberlain told MPs in Parliament that two million older people are living in poverty, a staggering one-in-six.
