Some people go to extreme lengths in terms of body modification. From subdermal piercings to horn implants, there are many ways some people choose to stand-out from the crowd.

But one body modification craze that could have dire consequences if done wrong is eyeball tattoos, also known as sclera tattoos.

In February Daily Star Online reported the story of a woman who struggled with her vision after getting her eyeballs inked. Alessandra Sadowska went totally blind in one eye, and was battling sight problems in the other.

Here we take a closer look at the risks and safety concerns surrounding sclera tattoos. The man who first experienced with injecting ink into the eyeball is a US tattoo artist who goes by the name of Luna Cobra.
