Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will take confidence from United's performances at the Etihad Stadium this season, winning in both the league and Carabao Cup clashes.
United's recent form is another reason to be hopeful of a positive result, unbeaten in nine games in all competitions. Should the Reds emerge victorious, Solskjaer would be the first manager since Sir Alex Ferguson to complete a league double over the Blues.
