Bury's new vaccination centre. Around 300 people were given the vaccination at the site in Prestwich on Tuesday (December 15).
Further centres will open in the borough as vaccinations are rolled across the country, a spokesman for Bury Council confirmed.
Health professionals say the system “ran smoothly on the first day” on the first day of opening and had “excellent feedback” from those who were vaccinated.
Residents are reminded they need two doses of the vaccine for it to be fully effective.They must still follow Covid-safe guidelines by maintaining social distancing, washing their hands and wearing a face mask.
