Hundreds of people in Salford have been waiting more than a year for NHS treatment as hospitals deals with delays caused by the coronavirus crisis.A total of 712 patients registered with Salford GPs were waiting for greater than 52 weeks after referral, according to the latest figures from August.Most were waiting for treatment at Salford Royal, but there were 241 Salford patients waiting to be treated at Manchester Foundation Trust's hospitals.There were just 26 Salford patients who waited that long for treatment over the whole year up to April, according to the local NHS commissioning group.As well as capacity concerns, health bosses say many are not turning up to appointments and tests which could be due to fear of catching.
