miles deep, was initially reported as 5.5 on the richter scale, but the US Geological Survey has since revised the rumble to 6.5.A spokesman for USGS told CNN the earthquake was "widely felt" and shocked locals as the area has a "streak of not having big earthquakes for 66 years."Esmeralda County Sheriff, Sharon Wehrly, posted a video of road damage to US 95 following the quake, and a large hole can be seen in the middle of the road.
