They duly obliged and despite their rivals' two games in hand, the Light Blues have one of the biggest leads across Europe's top flight leagues.
In fact, Rangers are bucking the trend as some of the biggest divisions remain comparatively neck-and-neck early on this season - though that is partly down to the Scottish Premiership's earlier start date compared to the divisions that finished their previous seasons over the summer.
