Queen Vic landlord and landlady Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp) and Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) were a golden couple in Albert Square, despite having a somewhat stormy marriage sometimes due to Sharon's feistiness and Grant's rather unhinged side.
However, there was also the added complication that Sharon had betrayed Grant by engaging in a torrid affair with his close brother Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), who himself was in a relationship with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).
The story came to ahead when Grant got his hands on a recording of a conversation between Sharon and her best friend Michelle Fowler (Sue Tully) where she admitted her adultery.
